As a long-established lettings agent, we take great care to vet our landlords and their properties to ensure we deliver our tenants a positive rental experience.

At Keywest, we pride ourselves in forging strong relationships with landlords in order to provide tenants with a quality service. We will only agree to manage a property for a landlord once we’re satisfied that the building and accommodation is up to standard, and there is no outstanding maintenance work required. We want to make sure that from day one our tenants are happy, and that the properties we manage deliver comfortable living and good value-for-money.

Our website contains comprehensive details of every rental property we manage. Here, you can search for properties that suit your needs by selecting your search criteria. You can search by location, that allows you to only view properties in a particular location.

All of our listings contain several photographs and comprehensive details of the property, to make sure you can identify the right house for you.

We would encourage you to join our mailing list, and register with us, to receive information and assistance from our team to help you find what you’re looking for.

In addition to our own website, we also advertise all of our properties on portals such as rightmove.com and zoopla.co.uk.

Viewing properties

We can arrange viewings at times that are convenient to you, and many of our rentals can be viewed immediately. If you have drawn up a shortlist, and wish to view a number of properties, we will endeavour to arrange appointments that follow each other. We will accompany you to viewings, and show you around, to ensure you get all the information you need.

I’ve found the perfect property – what now?

When you find the property that is right for you, we will contact the landlord and state that you wish to rent the property. If the landlord wishes to proceed, you will be asked to provide details of your employer, previous landlord and bank details in order for us to carry out credit and reference checks. In addition, students will be asked to provide details of a guarantor, and reference and credit checks will be carried out on the guarantor. We cannot rent any property without satisfying these checks.

There is a small reference fee that covers the cost of carrying out the credit and reference checks. At this point, the property will be reserved until you are required to sign the tenancy agreement.

When you have satisfied credit and reference checks you will be asked to come in to the office to sign the tenancy agreement and finalise rental arrangements. At this time you will be asked to pay an administration fee and the deposit/bond for the property. The administration fee covers the cost of setting up the tenancy agreement and any other paperwork required. The deposit is usually equal to one month’s rent plus £100.

On the day you move, you can collect the keys to the property from the Keywest office. Your first month’s rent is due on the day you move in, and is usually payable monthly thereafter.
